Professor Yoosik Kim, who graduated from the undergraduate program in the Department of Mathematics at POSTECH in February 2009 under the guidance of Professor Jihoon Park, was awarded the 'Young Mathematician Award' at the 2024 Spring Research Presentation of the Korean Mathematical Society.

The Young Mathematician Award is given to a member of the society who has not been employed as a full-time faculty member for more than 10 years and has been recognized for the excellence of a single paper published in the past five years.

Professor Kim served as a researcher at the Institute for Basic Science Center for Geometry and Physics (IBS-CGP) at POSTECH from July 2016 to June 2017 and has been working as an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at Pusan National University since March 2021.
