The 21st Ilju Mathematical School, jointly organized by the POSTECH Mathematics Research Institute and the June E. Huh Center for Mathematical Challenges at KIAS, was successfully held from the 26th to the 30th of last month at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study.
The program featured keynote lectures by leading international scholars in functional analysis, who presented recent advances and emerging research directions in the field. Researchers from the United States, Europe, and South America took part, engaging in in-depth discussions on current trends and central topics in functional analysis.
Following the lectures, participants actively exchanged ideas through open discussions, exploring new research themes and opportunities for international collaboration. Professor Emeritus Yun Sung Choi remarked that he hopes the event will foster stronger global research partnerships and vibrant cross-generational academic exchange, ultimately supporting the growth of young domestic research groups to an international level.
Since its inception in 2009 with the support of the Ilju Foundation for Academic and Cultural Advancement, the Ilju Mathematical School has been held annually and has established itself as an open forum for academic exchange, bringing together undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty members.
