From January 5 to 16, 2026, the Department of Mathematics at POSTECH hosted the “School and Workshop on Vector Bundles on Algebraic Varieties.”

The event brought together researchers from Korea and abroad to discuss vector bundles on algebraic varieties, one of the central topics in algebraic geometry, and their applications. It provided an opportunity for participants to share the latest research developments and for students to engage in learning and present their own research, fostering in-depth academic exchange. The program featured speakers from international institutions, including Université Bourgogne Europe, Universitat de Barcelona, Politecnico di Torino, and Fordham University, as well as researchers from POSTECH, IBS, KIAS, and several domestic universities.

Lectures were held in Room 404 of the POSTECH Department of Mathematics and were organized in a combined format of a school and workshop, offering valuable learning opportunities especially for young researchers and graduate students.

The event was organized by Professors Kyeong‑Dong Park (Gyeongsang National University), Jihun Park (IBS-CGP, POSTECH), and Kyoung seog Lee (POSTECH) with the support of the National Research Foundation of Korea, the G-LAMP Program of Gyeongsang National University, the Molecular Control Research Center at Gyeongsang National University, the Department of Mathematics at POSTECH, and the POSTECH Institute for Basic Science. The organizers hope that this program will contribute significantly to active international collaboration and the strengthening of research networks in the field of algebraic geometry.
