On September 11, the Gyeongbuk Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (CEO: Ju-Hyun Yoo, hereinafter referred to as the “Gyeongbuk Innovation Center”) officially launched the “Gyeongbuk AX Committee.”

According to the Gyeongbuk Innovation Center, the launch of this committee aligns with the Korean government's policy direction on AI transformation and represents a full-scale initiative to establish a proactive and collaborative framework at the regional level. The Center aims to strengthen its role as an innovation hub that gathers voices from the field and takes the lead in proposing effective policies.

The launch event was attended by around ten participants, including members from academia, research institutions, corporations, and startups. Attendees shared a strong consensus that AI and AX (AI Transformation) are essential for enhancing national competitiveness and driving regional industrial development.

The Gyeongbuk AX Committee plans to:

- Develop regional strategies to accelerate AI transformation (AX)

- Discover and nurture startups in the AX field

- Propose related policies and suggest institutional improvements

Professor Hyung Ju Hwang from POSTECH has been appointed as a member of the AX Committee.
