What if artificial intelligence could paint, compose music, and even direct films? Would it threaten human creativity — or expand it?

An experimental platform to explore this provocative question is being launched at POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology).

POSTECH will host the 2025 Pohang AI & Art Week from July 7 to 14 at Pohang Change Up Ground.

Under the theme “AI x ART = ∞ (Infinity)”, the event, subtitled Youth AI & Art Week, invites the public to explore the infinite possibilities born from the creative fusion of technology and art.

During the event, visitors can experience AI-generated artworks and witness firsthand the convergence of technology and emotion through talks and performances by AI-based creators and artists. Various programs such as musical instrument experiences, AI concerts, and media performances will also allow participants to experience the boundary between artificial intelligence and art.

The exhibition will run continuously throughout the event period. Major programs include:

      - July 7: Talks and film screening

      - July 13: Talks, AI concert, and musical instrument experience

      - July 14: Talks and media performances

Pre-registration is required for lectures, while the exhibition is open to the public free of charge without registration.

Notable participants include POSTECH Professor Jeong-Ah Woo, visual artist Sangho Noh, novelist Bora Chung, composer Myung-Ok Kim, art director Byung-Hee Lee, and Gayageum performer Young-Sook Song. In particular, artists using AI as a creative tool will share their unique artistic worlds and philosophies, offering a glimpse into the present and future of AI-powered art.

The event is organized by the Mathematical Institute for Data, AI & Society (MINDS) at POSTECH, jointly planned with the POSTECH Division of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Pohang Cultural Foundation’s Art-Technology Convergence Lab, and supported by the Pohang City Education Special Zone Project.
