Title: How I interpret and apply algebraic combinatorics

Abstract: Algebraic combinatorics is a branch of mathematics situated at the intersection of algebra and combinatorics. In the first half of my talk, I will emphasize that algebraic combinatorics is fundamentally about establishing equalities between mathematical objects that possess both algebraic and combinatorial structures.

In the second half, I will discuss one of my recent works, establishing an equality between Lusztig’s q-weight multiplicities for type C and a certain subset of Kirillov–Reshetikhin crystals, described purely in terms of combinatorial objects known as semistandard oscillating tableaux. This part of the talk is based on joint work with DongHyun Kim and HyunJae Choi.
