소개 및 안내사항Content | Abstract: In this talk, we consider a boundary-value problem of the Boltzmann equation with discontinuous boundary data and its fluid-dynamic approximation in the near continuum regime. More precisely, we consider the steady gas flow between two parallel walls induced by a discontinuous wall temperature. Our motivation for this study is a recent interest in phoretically active particles, typically known as Janus particles. Assuming a small Knudsen number, we derive from the Boltzmann equation a system of Stokes equations for incompressible fluids with a source/sink condition to model the effect of the discontinuous wall temperature. The derivation is based on a matched asymptotic expansion method, which allows us to identify a kinetic region near the point of discontinuity.
