The human wish for a prosperous life has brought about the development of advanced science and technology, and Hyundai has entered an era of infinite competition. The development of advanced science and technology is based on the premise of the development of basic sciences such as mathematics and physics. This development of basic science can also be attributed to the pure desire of human nature to understand and explain all natural phenomena.

Among them, the development of mathematics in particular is the crystallization of human infinite thinking. The development of mathematics has enabled the explanation of many natural laws and is also the basis for the development of high-tech science. Many theories of mathematics have come from the raising of real problems and their resolution, and the analytical and comprehensive abilities of problems obtained in the course of such problem solving and theorizing can be applied to all other humanities or natural sciences.

The purpose of the education in the mathematics department is to foster the forces that can actively and creatively work in social fields by first cultivating the thinking power and the comprehensive ability to analyze problems that are fostered in the process of acquiring mathematics theory by first imparting basic mathematics knowledge and generating sufficient motivation for mathematics.

In addition, the goal is to train students who go to graduate school based on their ability and aptitude as professional intellectuals with outstanding creative research skills and to train them as individuals who can faithfully guide students when they enter the education field.
