Title: Maximal averages and Fourier decay

Abstract: "Fourier decay, the decay rate of the Fourier transform, is a fundamental topic in Harmonic Analysis. It is closely related to various fields, including PDEs, Geometric measure theory, Number theory, and Algebraic geometry. In this talk, I will discuss the basic properties of Fourier decay and its connection to the Lp maximal bounds problem, which is a generalization of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal estimate. Although this problem have been extensively studied since the 1970's, it remains widely open. I will present an overview of known results as well as my recent work related to this problem.
