The Department of Mathematics at POSTECH will be holding remedy courses for select students who will be admitted as 1st year students in 2010. The remedy course, which will take place during 2009 winter session will help narrowing the gap between students with strong mathematical foundation and those who are not. The remedy course will focus on Basic Calculus.

The Remedy course will help students to who will be taking Math 110, Calculus (Honor Course) in academic year 2010.

▣ Basic Calculus: Content Summary
The goal of the [Basic Calculus] is to give you a solid understanding of the basics of calculus, which includes Real Number, Function and Limits, Continuous Function, Transcendental Function, Differentiation, Applications of Differentiation, Indefinite Integral, Definite Integral, Applications of Integral, Complex Number, Vector Calculus, etc.

1. Participants : About 60 students from B group interviewees for 2010 admission

2. Dates: 1.25/10 (Mon) ∼ 2.5(Fri) (2 Weeks)

3. Lecture Hours: Mon ∼ Fri, 2 ~ 5pm (for both Class 1 & 2)

4. Lecturers : Professor Ann Heung Ju, Oh Dong Yeol

5. Lecture Rooms : Class1 - Mathematical Sciences Bldg. Rm.206
Class2 - Mathematical Sciences Bldg. Rm.402

6. Others
- Recognition of Credits/Grades : S/U Basis, will not count toward graduation credit requirement.
- Tuition : Free (However, participating students must pay for their own room and board)
